English Summer Camp

Skinner Creek ESL Summer Camp and Guest Ranch is a unique destination designed for international students and adults in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. Each guest, whether student or adult, experiences outdoor adventures combined with an intensive English program. Skinner Creek is the perfect place for students ages 8-18 to learn English as well as horseback riding and other amazing outdoor adventures that B.C., Canada has to offer. Other learn English programs during the year allow adult English learners to enjoy all the educational and adventure activities of Skinner Creek. Skinner Creek ESL Summer Camp and Guest Ranch is one of a kind. There is no place like it, with its small, family style learning environment for all ages. All students and guests stay on the ranch in beautiful, hand crafted, modern cabins and with a maximum of 16, there is plenty of opportunity for support and care to each individual.

English Summer Camp

 Skinner Creek offers a unique ESL learn English and outdoor adventure camp for international students aged 8 to 18. Students learn about international cooperation, nature, Canadian culture and experience the true British Columbia outdoors. Students are supervised 24 hours a day and are encouraged to speak English at all times.

  • Students are challenged in English classes with material suited for different ages. After class, students enjoy many outdoor activities in a controlled, safe environment such as horseback riding.

  • Experienced supervisors and camp counselors will modify each activity to the level appropriate for each student.

  • Students safety is a priority for the staff of Skinner Creek ESL Guest Ranch.

  • Students are monitored at all times and supervisors are in the cabins with the students at night. Staff members have St. John's First Aid and Transportation and Wilderness First Aid.

Adult English program:
Skinner Creek allows adults a one of a kind English and outdoor adventure program. A combination of English classes and horseback riding lets adults enjoy the beauty of British Columbia as well as learning the English language in a fun, non-threatening environment. Adults stay in one of our beautiful, hand crafted, modern cabins and are provided with all meals and equipment.

English Classes:

  • Class hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 12:00pm (English programs can vary depending how much English class is wanted by individual guests)

  • Students are challenged in conversation and all academic English skills.

  • Classroom English is optional for our adult guests.


Outdoor and Wilderness Activities:
Horseback riding is the most popular activity. We ride daily, as much as the guest wants. Absolutely no experience is necessary. There are horses for all levels from beginners to experienced riders. Hiking, nature activities, local community events, Canadian culture and days at the lakes are also enjoyed.
